Graeme has been providing his expertise to the mining industry in engineering, geology, geotechnical and hydro-geology for over 30 years. He has a Master of Science from James Cook University and is an Applied Geology Honours graduate from University of New South Wales.

Fernando has a background in petrology/geochemistry with over ten years experience as a research geologist. His industry experience includes base metal mineralisation, geothermal fields, geological modelling and hydrogeology. His computer skills include MapInfo, Surfer and Earth Vision.

 

Iman Ferdowsi

Mining Engineer
MAusIMM, MBA, M. Eng (Mining), B. Eng (Mining)

 

Iman has experience as a mining engineer in Iran with onsite management skills. Since he has joined SMG Consultants he has expanded his skills to include open pit design, geological modelling and pit optimisation and using Minex, Surpac and Whittle 4.

 

Jose M. Garcia J.

Senior Mining Engineer
Bsc. Eng (Mining), MAusIMM, SME

 

Jose is a Spanish engineer with over five years experience in several operations in Chile, Peru, Spain and Australia. He has been involved in large copper mining operations in South America, the iron ore industry in Western Australia and the development of a greenfield project in Southern Spain. He has experience in all the areas related to operation, production, cost and technology, including hard rock and soft materials.

 

Jose has a Mining Engineering degree from the Polytechnic University of Madrid as well as a Master in Safety and Health in Mining.

 

Jordana Gardiner

Resource Geologist
B.Sc. (Hons), Earth Science

 

Jordana has worked for 3 years as a geologist in both Australia and Canada. Her career has had a strong focus on field work and geological modelling. She has experience in several different commodities; including both exploration and production environments. Jordana’s software capabilities include, Vulcan, ArcGIS, Data Mine and Surpac.

 

Katherine Kelso

Mining Engineer
BAEE (Mining & Civil Works)

 

Katherine has a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering from the University of New South Wales. She has previous experience as an environmental advisor, mine planner and technical consultant to several major mining houses.Her computer skills include AutoCAD, Vulan 3D, Minex Modelling and Mine Planning and Surpac V6.

 

Colin Little

Mining Engineer
Diploma – Mining Engineering, BTech (Mining)

 

Colin has a National Diploma and a Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering from the University of Johannesburg. Colin has 6 years experience with Anglo Platinum working in a variety of supervisory, planning and D&B roles in trackless underground settings.

 

Colin worked at Potgietersrus Platinum open cast mine where he gained experience in open cast operations and was involved in business improvements projects. He held a supervisory position at Waterval TM3 mine and was involved in a project making recommendations into opening a new section with a new fleet of machines and mining methods.

 

Tony Marshall

B.Sc. (Hons), Grad. Dip. Ed.

 

Tony has 22 years experience in geology. He has been involved in exploration and mine geology in large metalliferous mines in Australia and has provided technical support and training to surveyors, geologists, and engineers involved in metalliferous mining.

 

Nikta Mohtaj

Mining Engineer
B.Eng. (Mining), M.Sc. (Earthquake Seismology)

 

Nikta has a Bachelor of Mining Engineering and has a Masters degree in Earthquake Seismology from the Research and Science University of Tehran. She has experience in open pit design and scheduling projects and has an interest in seismic hazard assessments. Her computer skills include Autodesk Map 2004, Surfer 8, MapInfo and Sierisk.

 

Russell Pennell

Mining Engineer. EITB.
APSC (Mining), APEGBC

 

Russell has experience in open pit base metals in both operational and design roles he also has underground experience in the diamond industry. He also is proficient with a variety of software packages including Surpac and Gems. Russell also has over 10 years experience working in the financial industry in Canada.



Sean Reid

Senior Mining Engineer
B.Eng. (Mining - Hons), MAusIMM, ACSM

 

Sean has over seven years experience in the base metals industry performing in operational and design roles. Sean has QMS 1, 2 and 3 supervisor qualifications. His expertise includes underground drill and blast, development and stope designs, mine ventilation and scheduling and has experience in geotechnical and ventilation work.

 

Alistair Smith

Alistair is a mining surveyor with twelve years experience in underground and open cut mines including coal, lead, zinc, copper, iron ore and gold. Alistair has experience in Surpac, Minex, Vulcan, Microstation and Database Management, scheduling and design work.

 

Geoff Spearing

Principal Mining Engineer
P.Eng., CP(Mining), MAusIMM

 

Geoff has over twenty years experience in open cut coal and metalliferous mining. He is a Member and Chartered Professional (CP Mining) of the AusIMM and a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) of the RPEQ and APEGBC. Geoff specialises in mine feasibility, due diligence, mine costing, and equipment applications including continuous (IPCC) systems.

 

Dan Stolberg

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

B.Eng. (Hons), M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D., MIEAust, CPEng

 

Dan has over ten years experience in engineering, specialising in mining geomechanics, with a background in civil engineering and experience in petroleum engineering operations. He is an Honours graduate from Queensland University of Technology, and has a Masters degree in geotechnical engineering from the University of New South Wales and a Ph.D. in mining geomechanics from the University of Queensland.

 

Len Turner

Senior Cartographer & Illustrator

 

Len was a Computer Science and Science teacher in Tasmanian colleges until 1990 when he took his computing skills into the Architectural sector. He now has 18 years experience in design and documentation and has led a number of large projects in the commercial high rise, domestic housing, health and defense areas.

 

Len has worked closely with surveyors, civil and structural engineers, town and environmental planners on many projects in Queensland and Tasmania.

 

Pieter-Jan van Driel

Senior Cost Engineer

B.Eng. (Mech), M.Sc. (Proj Man)

 

Pieter-Jan has a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has a Masters Degree in Project Management from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

 

Pieter- Jan has two years of process plant and eight years of open pit mining experience. He played various operational as well as project roles in the maintenance, selection and procurement of mining and engineering equipment as well as in project evaluation.
